If You Don't Work Then You Don't Eat

Paul wrote this in IIThessalonians 3:10. He told the church there that he worked night and day so he wouldn't be chargeable to any of them in the verse just before this one. Now I realize this was the beginning of the church age as we know it today. I'm sure the church didn't have finances to pay him much. So Paul worked.

I think we all should work if we are capable. Whether at home or outside the home. It's good for us first of all and then it's what we should be doing and not depending on some other source.

However, I am from the old school and I do believe a woman should stay home for a few years at least if she has children. Nowadays it's said every where you turn that it takes two salaries to live. I can refute that.

My husband and I started out with 2.00 in his pocket back in 1962. We had three sons along the way and raised them on his salary alone. I stayed at home and took care of them. We never wanted for anything. We drove new vehicles, he had one and I had one. We bought two homes, one was new we had built, and we bought a 34 foot motor home later in life. The list goes on. Our sons had everything the two parent workers kids had.

And oh.. I forgot to mention he wasn't a doctor or a lawyer. He was a construction worker. He ran a bulldozer, plowed snow in the wintertime, and dug ditches by hand if necessary and so on. We lived within his salary and we were fine. We weren't rich but we were comfortable. We were doing just as well as the other couples that worked and left their children with babysitters till they got home.

My husband passed away a few years ago and I'm alone now. I live off a widow's pension through social security. But do you know, my husband had a retirement plan at work and he left me an IRA that I take some from each month to make ends meet. God always provides, doesn't he? But I like to try to do something for myself in the area of finances as well. So I started a store on the Internet. I had sold antiques and collectibles for years before my husband died. I have a house full of stuff to sell. So if you like that sort of thing, I'd appreciate it if you would visit my store at; http://uniquetreasures.ecrater.com

Thank you and God bless each of you and remember whatever happens to you in life, God said he'd never leave you nor forsake you. He'll make a way for you always, even in your finances. He is taking care of me now in that area and I know he always will.
