“So let us walk boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.”  Hebrews 4:16 (TLB)

As children of the Holy Father, we have been brought into God’s Royal Family and given all privileges that come with that position. We are the sons and daughters of the King of Kings, brothers and sisters of the Messiah himself.  We are joint heirs with our Master.

One of these privileges is to walk boldly into Jehovah’s most sacred place, to come fearlessly into the Father’s throne room.  In Solomon’s Temple, the innermost room was called the Holy of Holies. It could only be entered once a year, and then only by the High Priest, who would make offerings for both his sins and the sins of the people.  The presence of the Lord resided there with the Ark of the Covenant.  This was Yahweh’s mercy seat.

The High Priest stood between God and man.  We could not go directly to the Father with our petitions.   For us to truly approach Jehovah, someone had to close that wide gulf between the Creator and his creations.  For this reason, Jesus came.

When the Messiah died, the curtain covering the Holy of Holies was torn. He closed that gulf and became our new High Priest.  He commands us to “walk boldly” into his presence and that of the Father, and make our needs known.  Because of his sacrifice, the way directly to the Lord of Hosts is now available.  My dear brothers and sisters, now we may walk directly into an audience with the Most High God.  So come boldly, my children, for the Lord of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob longs to give us good things!
